Professional Dog Trainer & Behavior Consultant
Certified Dognition Evaluator #MA130025
APDT #90964 - PPG #9061064

Dogs have always been my passion; from family pets to volunteer work, I found dogs to be a fascination of mine from a young age. My career with dogs began in 2007, when I began working as a professional dog walker and pet sitter in Boston MA. In 2012, I realized my passion for positive reinforcement dog training, and inspired by my own Siberian husky Buck, I established Beyond Buck Dog Training in his name. Today we reside in Sandwich, MA with my 3 other siberian huskies, Jolene, Crystal and Cotton. I own and operate Cape Cod Dog Center Inc. an all in one dog center offering dog daycare, overnight accommodations, grooming and more!
Combining my 10+ years of hands on dog behavior experience, my pursuit of a cutting edge education in the field, as well as my well raised co-pilot Buck, I am thrilled to have a career in training and behavior consulting. I have completed a Diploma of Canine Behavior Science and Technology (Dip. CBST) as well as a Professional Dog Training Science and Technology Certificate (Cert.PDTST) from The Companion Animal Sciences Institute. I have also completed Karen Pryor Academy's Puppy Start Right for Instructors Course, a course dedicated to puppy socialization and training. I am the first Certified Dognition Evaluator in Massachusetts. I am Pet CPR and First Aid Certified through the American Red Cross and a Doggone Safe Be a Tree Presenter, educating children on safe interactions with dogs as well as dog bite prevention.
I am a member of the following professional organizations:
I have attended the following dog training and behavior seminars:
In April 2013 I was invited to speak to children about my career at Warren-Prescott K-8 School's annual "WP Connects with the Community Event". Hopefully I sparked the interest of some future canine professionals! In March 2015 I spoke to the Bournedale Elementary School about Sled dogs, mushing and the Iditarod! In 2017 I spoke at Quincy College to business students regarding successfully running a small business. If you are a school, group or event and are interested in a dog related presentation, please feel free to reach out to me! Topics of interest may include, bite prevention, career day, mushing / sled dog demonstrations and more!
My goals continue to grow, and my reading list is forever long, but I am determined to provide the best service possible to not just pet parents but do justice to their dogs as well. Keep checking in on my career as I am always pushing my goals further! I strive to give only the most positive and productive advice I can, and pride myself on not using any aversive tools or intrusive methods to get results. My services are force free and based on a science based behavior analysis approach, observing the environment to understand and modify behavior, rather than using labels or prejudice. You will find my training techniques highly effective as you see your dog's behavior transform! I hope to expand other pet parents bonds with their dogs as training has for me and Buck. Thank you for your support!
